The Start+ works differently from every other pen here. It uses 3Doodler’s own low-temperature Start plastic, and 3Doodler says it is designed with no external hot parts, for children aged 6 to 13. For a six-year-old, that matters more than any other specification.

Worth knowing before you buy
- Standard 1.75 mm PLA does not fit: refills must be 3Doodler Start plastic or a compatible 2.5 mm pack.
- The low-temperature plastic stays softer than PLA, so it suits play and simple models more than fine detail.
